Deputy Buttery Manager (Maternity Cover)
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,938 per annum
The College seeks to appoint a Deputy Buttery Manager (maternity cover) to effectively manage the Buttery department. Ensuring the service at all events is smooth and efficient.
The Buttery provides a Food and Beverage service to the College, and is responsible for serving Fellows, Students, Staff and guests at Conferences, Banquets and Weddings as well as daily lunch and dinners. The Buttery team are “front of house” and have a hugely important role in presenting a professional and efficient service to all members of the College community and their guests.
The post holder will provide excellent customer service and be reliable and proactive with excellent team working and communication skills. You will have an understanding of professional catering services, till work and be able to work in a supervisory role.
The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a salary of £32,938 per annum, including:
- contributory pension scheme
- free lunch when in College
- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
- the use of sports facilities

Buttery Assistant
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Salary: £25,101 per annum
The College seeks to appoint a Buttery Assistant to work within the Buttery team serving food and beverages and maintaining the good order of the main food service areas, including the student cafeteria (Ramsay Hall), Formal Hall, and such other events in parts of Magdalene College as may from time to time be required.
The Buttery provides a food and beverage service to the College, and is responsible for serving Fellows, students, staff and guests at conferences, banquets and weddings as well as daily lunch and dinners. Development Officer (Regular Giving)
Full time: 36.25 hours a week
Salary: £32,625 per annum
Magdalene College is seeking to appoint a confident Development Officer (Regular Giving) with strong interpersonal skills able to build effective and long-term relationships with potential future donors. We would expect some experience in annual fundraising and an ambition to develop skills in face-to-face fundraising to advance a career in Development in the Higher Education sector.
There is real scope for the right person to use their creativity to grow the already successful Annual Fund at Magdalene and to develop face-to-face fundraising expertise by identifying and cultivating those Members who make significant gifts to the Annual Fund. Applicants should have experience of annual fund fundraising as well as developing plans to enhance the regular giving programme. Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal and organisational and database skills.
The position is full-time, 36.25 hours a week, and attracts a highly competitive salary of £32,625 p.a. and excellent benefits including:
