YH2 Capital Scholarship at Magdalene College
The YH2 Capital Scholarship programme launched in 2019 and is fully funded by the co-founders and co-CEOs of YH2 Capital Management Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.
The programme offers two fully funded, bond-free Scholarship each year for undergraduate study at Magdalene College. The selection committee of the Scholarship is looking for an outstanding Malaysian candidate with exemplary academic and personal qualities who does not have the full financial means to pursue a degree at the University of Cambridge without the help of the Scholarship.
The Scholarship will not impose any bond on the Scholar being awarded. The Donors intend the Scholar to be free to choose their place of residency and their career post-graduation from the University of Cambridge. The key objective of the Donors is to offer the Scholar lacking financial means an opportunity to not only attend Cambridge University, but to subsequently pursue his/her career aspirations without constraints.
Malaysian students studying overseas, especially those on ASEAN scholarships studying in Singapore, are welcome to apply for the Scholarship.
Eligibility

In order to be eligible you must be a citizen of Malaysia and have received a conditional offer for a place at Magdalene College for undergraduate study in one of the accepted subjects.
Tenure
The basic tenure of the Scholarship is for the full duration of the degree course from the start of the academic year (1 October).

In determining the value of the Scholarship in individual cases, the College will take into account the candidate’s income from all sources and a partial scholarship may be awarded.
Application Procedure
The YH2 Capital Scholarship programme opens for applications on 25 September 2023.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview held in Singapore at the end of March either through video call or in person. Shortlisted candidates from the first round of interviews will then take part in a video call interview with the Selection Committee members residing in Cambridge. The successful applicant will be announced by the end of May, but will only be confirmed when the conditional offer of a place at the College is confirmed in late August.

Referees
You will need two referees who are willing to submit testimonials on your behalf. Referees are to prepare the references required as stated in the Referee’s Guideline document available below. They are then required to send the references and the Referee’s Guideline documents directly to scholarship@yh2capital.com from their institution email addresses.
You are responsible to ensure that referees submit their references by 29 February 2024, 23:59 SGT.
Data Protection
It is a mandatory requirement that applicants for the YH2 Capital Scholarship permit the sharing of limited information between Magdalene College and YH2 Capital Scholarship in order to assess and administer the scholarship programme. There is a data-sharing agreement between Magdalene College and YH2 Capital Scholarship.
