Welcome from Sir Christopher Greenwood, Master of Magdalene

Welcome to Magdalene. I have been Master of the College since October 2020 but Magdalene is very much in my DNA. I was an undergraduate at Magdalene and then a postgraduate student. Later, I taught Law as a Fellow of the College for nearly twenty years. My wife and I were married in the Chapel and our children baptised there. Magdalene has always played an important part in our lives and I hope it will now do so in yours.

My wife and I very much look forward to welcoming you to Magdalene - or welcoming you back, as the case may be - and we are keen to meet you as soon as possible. Magdalene has always had a very strong sense of community - including our Fellows, staff and students. We are all the heirs of a tradition of scholarship which stretches back almost six hundred years and which has survived war, revolution and plagues (both ancient and modern). 

My colleagues and I are determined to ensure that our students get the best education that Cambridge can offer and will do all that we can to ensure that the student experience here in Magdalene is as good as it can be.
