Photographic Images, Reproduction Fees and Filming
Please note that from 27th August 2024 the photography services will be temporarily suspended due to refurbishment works to the Pepys building. We hope to resume the service in early 2025.
Photography is not permitted in the Pepys Library including for private use. Images can be purchased for private use from the Library collection. If images are intended to be used for publication, for exhibition or for any form of reproduction including electronic, there is an additional reproduction fee. Permission must be applied for from the Pepys Librarian for all image reproductions.
Please contact the Library for further information on photography costs and permissions fees. A quotation of cost will be sent to you for confirmation prior to your order being processed.
Where we do not have an existing image, new images can be ordered subject to the approval of the Library, who will check the condition of the items requiring photography. Please note that there may be a waiting time of up to 6 weeks for new images depending on our schedule, although in most cases we can supply images more quickly.
On occasion, and subject to availability, we grant access to the Library for the filming of historical documentaries. Please contact the Library for further information.
Before ordering, please read the Photographic Services: Regulations and Conditions document. This will give you further information about the ordering process and which order forms you will need to complete.
