A Celebration of the Life of Professor Bill Cornish
Members are cordially invited to an afternoon of words and music to celebrate the life of Professor Bill Cornish, CMG, QC, FBA, Emeritus Herchel Smith Professor of Intellectual Property Law, and Life Fellow and formerly President of Magdalene College, Cambridge. This event will take place on Sunday 19th March 2023, here at Magdalene.
Professor Bill Cornish was an invaluable member of the Magdalene Fellowship for over thirty years. A distinguished legal scholar, he made an enormous contribution to the development of the law on intellectual property and played a leading role in aid to East European universities after the end of communist rule, while always finding time for the College which he served in so many ways, especially during his time as President.
The programme for the day will be as follows:
From 4.00pm: refreshments will be served in Cripps Court Gallery
5.00pm-6.30pm: words and music to celebrate the life of Professor Cornish in the Sir Humphrey Cripps Auditorium, Cripps Court
6.30pm: a light buffet supper will be served
