College Archives: Enquiries

Enquiries

We welcome enquiries relating to the collections.

The College Archivist may be contacted by email (archives@magd.cam.ac.uk), by post (The Archivist, Magdalene College, Cambridge, CB3 0AG), or by telephone (01223 337785).

We are currently working on the creation of an online catalogue for the College Archives. In the meantime, researchers are able to access the AC Benson Diaries Index. The diaries may be consulted by prior application and by permission of the College Archivist.

While we are happy to answer enquiries, please note that we are unable to offer a research service and may recommend that you visit us in person.

Enquiries relating to former students or Fellows of Magdalene College

Researchers interested in former students or Fellows of Magdalene College from before 1900 may wish in the first instance to consult A Cambridge Alumni Database (ACAD), which contains biographical details of everyone who has been identified as being academically associated with the University of Cambridge from 1200 to 1900. This database draws on John Venn’s Alumni Cantabrigienses, a biographical list of all known students, graduates and holders of office at the University of Cambridge, from the earliest times to 1751, 4 vols (1922–27).
