Give as you Earn (GAYE) and Payroll Giving

Give As You Earn

Give as you Earn (GAYE), also known as Payroll Giving, is a tax-efficient method of giving directly from your salary.

Payroll giving is a simple, tax-efficient scheme that allows you to make regular donations to charity through your salary. Payroll Giving donations are deducted from your gross income before tax is deducted which can result in significant savings. Each £1.00 given will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.

If your employer operates a GAYE scheme setting up Payroll Giving is simple. To sign up contact your employer's payroll department and let them know that you would like to give to Magdalene (Registered Charity Number 1137542) and the gift amount. Your donation will be taken out of your pre-tax salary and will be shown on your payslips.

In many cases, donors to Magdalene may be able to increase their gift to the College at no extra cost by taking advantage of Gift Matching Programmes.
