Supporting Undergraduates
The Magdalene undergraduate bursary scheme has been operating successfully since its introduction in response to the higher fee structure in 2012. The scheme has been generously financed by Members and Friends as committed to the principle of needs blind admission as we are. The numerous donations we receive in support of the scheme have ensured that many of our undergraduates have been supported with full or partial bursaries to enable them to enjoy everything Magdalene and Cambridge has to offer. It is thanks to these continued contributions that the College can actively promote its belief that no one should be deterred from applying to study at Magdalene because of financial concerns.
We have been raising funds to support every undergraduate in need of help for almost a decade now and year on year, almost 20 per cent of Magdalene Members and Friends choose to make a gift to their College. We are grateful and delighted that so many of you support us in ensuring that all our students can focus on their time at Magdalene free from constant financial worry.
"...I simply could not have afforded to study at Cambridge without this bursary, if I am one day in a financial position to support students at Magdalene myself, I will do everything in my power to help students from low-income backgrounds like myself." - 2nd Year Undergraduate
"My bursary allows me to forget about money worries and actually get on with my undergraduate course on a day to day basis. This is perhaps the greatest gift of the bursary and I cannot thank you enough." - 1st Year Undergraduate

The Harding Challenge Fund
The University has launched The Harding Challenge for Student Support. This fund will match donations pound for pound from new donors in support of College student support initiatives including bursaries, studentships, mental health support and sports and societies. Gifts of any size up to £100,000 qualify, the fund will contribute the equivalent amount into a central fund for undergraduate student support. Magdalene will benefit significantly from the Harding Challenge fund as a large number of undergraduates are in receipt of financial support and bursary funding.
Take advantage of the Harding Challenge and multiply the power of your donation by giving to student support at Magdalene.
