Senior Development Officer

Full time (36.25 hours per week)
£34,000 - £37,000 per annum

Magdalene College is seeking to appoint a confident Senior Development Officer with strong interpersonal skills to build on the success of the College’s Regular Giving Programme and be able to forge effective and long-term relationships with potential major donors. We would expect a track record with fundraising for the Annual Fund, including experience of Telephone Campaigns, and some knowledge of face-to-face fundraising although training will be provided for the right candidate.

This post is a great opportunity to further develop a career in Development in the Higher Education sector.

Applicants should have experience working within a results-orientated environment such as fundraising, sales or marketing (gained in full time, part time or voluntary roles), and experience of annual fund fundraising as well as developing plans to enhance the Regular Giving Programme. Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

The position is full-time, 36.25 hours a week, and attracts a highly competitive salary ranging from £34,000 - £37,000 p.a. (dependent on experience) and excellent benefits including:

Head of Operations (Student Services)

Full time (40 hours per week)
£44,000 - £49,000 per annum

Magdalene College is seeking to appoint to the role of Head of Operations (Student Services) to be responsible for the management of the Porters’ Lodge and associated activities including: security and fire safety; student welfare and student facilities. This is a varied role with the post holder also responsible for the management of domestic accommodation services including: oversight of the College housekeeping services; oversight of student accommodation matters; compliance with ANUK standards and inspections; budgetary control; and assisting in the strategic planning of College student accommodation. The post holder is also Fire Officer for the College.

Applicants should have significant management experience in a front line, customer service environment, be an excellent team leader with sound communication, planning and organisational skills. A high standard of computer literacy is also necessary.

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a highly competitive salary from £44,000 - £49,000 p.a. (dependent on experience) and excellent benefits including:

Chef de Partie

Full time: 40 hours per week
£26,500 per annum

Magdalene College is looking for experienced Chefs to work as a Chef de Partie in our team of catering staff. The Catering Team is responsible for the production of food for students, Fellows, staff and guests and the Chef de Partie’s are responsible for initiating and overseeing the production of all meals during the shift, ensuring a high standard of customer service.

We would like to hear from candidates with previous experience in a Demi or Chef De Partie role, preferably within a formal or fine dining environment who have excellent cooking skills, the ability to multitask and the ability to work under pressure.

This is a full time role working 40 hours a week. The post attracts a salary of £26,500 p.a. and excellent benefits including:

Kitchen Porter

Casual work / Flexible hours
£9.18 to £9.50 per hour (depending on age)

Magdalene College is looking for people to work as Kitchen Porters in our team of catering staff. The Catering Team is responsible for the production of food for students, Fellows, staff and guests and the Kitchen Porter will work closely with the rest of the Team to ensure that food preparation areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The post holder will work in the main kitchen and at Cripps Court.

We would like to hear from candidates with previous experience in a busy kitchen or food services environment, who have good team-working abilities, a commitment to customer service and are able to work well under pressure.

The position is on a casual basis with flexible hours.

Housekeeping Team Leader

Part time: 30 hours per week
£11.32 per hour (£17,745 per annum)

The College is seeking a Housekeeping Team Leader to work in all areas of the College.

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our friendly Housekeeping Team to keep our College sparkling and spotless. The post holder will spend roughly half their time undertaking cleaning but also have responsibilities for checking areas and preparing cleaning kits. Candidates must have previous cleaning experience, be enthusiastic, hard working and have a keen eye for detail. A friendly disposition and courteous manner are also essential for this role, along with the ability to work weekends in busy periods on a rota basis. Supervisory experience would be an advantage.

Previous experience in a College environment would be desirable but is not essential.

The position is part time, 30 hours a week, and attracts a salary of £17,745 p.a. and excellent benefits including:

Housekeeping Assistants

Part or full time: 20 to 40 hours per week
£10.90 per hour (£11,391 - £22,781 per annum)

The College is seeking Housekeeping Assistants to work in all areas of the College. The posts have flexible start times between 7.30am and 9.30am. Weekly hours could be 20, 25 or 30 or 40.

We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our friendly Housekeeping Team to keep our College sparkling and spotless. Candidates must have previous cleaning experience, be enthusiastic, hard working and have a keen eye for detail. A friendly disposition and courteous manner are also essential for this role, along with the ability to work weekends in busy period on a rota basis.

Previous experience in a College environment would be desirable, but is not essential.

We are recruiting to a number of positions, both full and part time, attracting a salary of up to £22,781 per annum (£10.90 per hour) and excellent benefits including:
