Tutorial Support

All students at Magdalene are assigned a College Tutor as a first point of contact for help, advice, and pastoral support.

All students are assigned to a Tutor who is from a different academic department to their own, so no Tutor is involved in teaching or examining their tutees. The tutor is a student's advocate, and is there to support the student and to help with both practical and personal issues as they arise.

Tutors each have regular drop-in sessions each week during Term time, when you can simply turn up; but they are available to be consulted at other times too: simply drop them an email to arrange a time. As a minimum, undergraduate students are required to see their Tutor for an exeat meeting at the end of each term, but many see them at other times too. If a student would prefer to consult one of the other Tutors for any reason, they are free to do so.

There is also a Rooms Tutor, Mrs Helen Foord, who can be consulted by any student on matters relating to College accommodation.

The Tutors are supported by the rest of the pastoral team, including the College Nurse, Chaplain, and the Academic Office staff.

Contact details of Tutors and members of the pastoral team, and their meeting times are available for current students on the Tutors and Pastoral Team page
